I'm not familiar with the kuryakyn kit but I built my own kit with leds and a remote control module from oznium.com
The remote controlled switch is mounted under my seat with 3M double sided tape and the key chain has an on/off switch that I keep in my jacket pocket.
I'm not sure if you have already bought your kit, but i can give you the info on the components that I bought to build mine. I'll admit, the ease of turning your lights on and off with a remote is nice. Plus, when people say hey you left your lights on, I walk over with my hand in my pocket and yell at my bike while secretly clicking the key fob to turn them off, people laugh and ask how the hell I did that.
