Hey everyone! I just purchased my first bike today. It's a 2009 Softail Custom, and boy after pulling out of that Harley dealership and going on my first ride all I can say is....I AM HOOKED! I simply cannot get enough of this freakin' bike!
I do have to say this. I've never been one of those "brand guys." I never made a first purchase simply because of the company that was slapped on it. I did my research and looked around at all different bikes. Now I know why all of you guys love these bikes so much! Did Harleys appeal to me? OF COURSE THEY DID! But, I made sure to do my homework and find what would actually work for me. I'm 6'5" and 230, so I need a decent sized bike to fit on. It even had forward control extensions and kicked the handle bars forward from the forks a bit so I could really get a nice stretch while remaining safe on the bike. Not much kick, just enough to get comfortable.
The moment I fired this bike up, I knew my money went to more than just a name. It went into an adventure of endless possibility. It went into something that defines me as a person. It went into that sound that can't be reproduced by anything else.
When I got on that bike and hit the road, everything but me and my machine went out the window. It was just my bike and I and the road making sweet sweet symphony.
Did I mention the chrome?

I'm a younger guy...28, and I've always loved the classic look. Everything about the softails just scream classic through my eyes. I hate how most people my age don't know what real style is.
There's a closer look at the tank. The striping runs through the tail as well, it really compliments the flair of it.
And send out an immediate E-mail to all friends and family that the only gifts accepted from now on are Gift cards to pay for the HUGE amount of money you'll be spending.....it's addictive and extremely fun making the bike yours.
