Word!

Probably to the point, if I couldn't afford or otherwise get a tune done, I wouldn't do cams until I could.

I put the SE 254e cams in my Breakout and it dyno'ed at 87hp 104tq. I am happy with it, pulls hard in the revs I do my riding in.

Andrews 57H here. I absolutely love it. Still saving up for a tune, but the file Fuel Moto sent me has worked well for now. Install is pretty straight forward, but I agree with the others about adjusting the pushrods. I thought I knew what I was doing and pretty much did, but I had two buddies over who have built stock car motors for years who understood the process a lot better than me. Last thing you wanna do is fire that bad boy up and throw a rod. Ouch!!

I have ridden bikes with the low end cam (255) and for my bike I decided for a mid range cam. The 255 was great but didn't give you the powerband where Harleys fall short which is in the mid range. I am sure everyone has gotten on the throttle and it's quick from the start but then feels like it runs out of steam outside of 3000. And another reason I am now a huge down low cam fan is because it's a Harley. It will already and still have the torque that you need down low because of the engine design. Unless you have a bagger I say don't get the 255

255's an older cam. It's an EPA requirements meeting cam that is pretty much stock in the new baggers.....go a different route.

204 is pretty solid but the numbers on it seem to be consistently 5-10 Tq & hp below some of the designer cams

If you talk to andrews they recommend against using the 48 in the 103's. They suggest the 57h and is best used at stock comp. and can reuse stock pushrods

Woods also recommend s against the 222 in new 103's. They are pushing the 555.

Just remember that if someone is running a different displacement or different compressions that there results do not map to anything you are doing,

I also have a 2013 BO. I called both andrews and woods and chatted with them, I chose what I was most confident in....57h, stock pushrods, stock comp.

At the end of the day the 57h & s&s mr103 were really designed specifically for the 103's with stock comp

I wish CDonis would hurry up and try out the mr103 so I could see what it looks like!

This is a 48 with headwork at 9.7-1 or so:

So not to make you regret your decision any further, but I just got done taking to Jason at C&S (outside St Louis) that's gonna do my custom map. He was asking what all was done to the bike. Just in passing (not asking for cam recommendations), when I mentioned I had 204's, he cut me off and was like that's a really great cam! Said he's had lots of luck tuning that cam; says it's not a monster or great in any one particular area, but that it's very very good in a lot of areas. Said it's hard to beat that cam across the board and not too many bolt in cams sound better at idle.

Well after all the talk in this thread and a few other places I decided on the SE204. I feel confident that it will fit my riding style and the power will just be a twist away.

Instead of installing it myself I'm just going to have the local Harley shop install them. Darn install costs more than the cam..…....…. Oh the price we pay to have fun.
