Default Let Me See Your Gas Caps!

Hey gang,

I am in the process of switching out my tank with a new one sporting a custom paint job from H-D. I got it dirt cheap on e-Bay and together with some necessary repairs, it spawned a whole slew of changes for my bike. Of course I had all the main aspects figured out in my head right away. However, as the bike comes together again I realized that I have overlooked a number of small details. Probably because at some point I was figuring on sticking with what I already had but as the bike goes through it's metamorphosis, I am realizing that I would like those details to change with it.

One are is with the gas cap and fuel gauge. I thought about sticking with the stock chrome stuff but thought I could give it something a little nicer to go with the new flashy paint on the tank. As far as Harley accessory caps go, the only thing that really interests me at all is maybe a flush mount gauge and cap in gloss black. However, I was hoping for something a little more unique but that would either work like a stock gas cap or maybe even work with some sort of adapter without the need to modify the tank.

So if you're running something cool and unique on your tank please share it.

Not interested in anything with swear words or naked lady body parts like the stuff I've come across on the web!

Thanks,

Skeez

Hey Skeez... I love this offering from speed dealer customs. I have their oil cap already and it is a HIGH quality piece.

THe only thing that keeps me from buying it is they don't have a matching one to cover the fuel gauge side. THey are supposed to have a left side in the works. I'm holding out hope.

I bought a cheap ebay one for around $30 or so.
Out of the box, the paint had some imperfections as to be expected. Overall the cap itself is a quality part though and sits flush and looks pretty good.
After a couple of days looking at it, I sanded it down to the metal, primered, painted and cleared it....looks 100% better.

Does look like a nice living room! I dig the engine block coffee table. If it's a furnished garage, I'm jealous.

My brother keeps his bikes in his living room...he's divorced. LOL.
