Well, I couldn't pass up our 60+ degree day.... I haven't gotten my wheels yet (or a shipping confirmation).. So I decided to throw the stockers back on just so I can see how this thing rides. I'll tell ya - I couldn't be happier with the Progressive monotubes - they are WORLDS of difference over stock suspensions. Very little dive when hitting the brakes, if at all, and there is no dive/jerk when shifting gears, either.

Power with the Superchips Vigilante EZ - well, since I have not ridden without it on this bike, I can't give a before or after.. BUT, there is absolutely NO backfiring or popping in the bike. I'd say it is tuned pretty well. (I'm running the Kuryakyn Velociraptor and a set of Samson 36" mini cholos w/o baffles). One thing's for sure.. This bike is WAY faster than my '04 Night Train. Can't wait to get it shined up and looking pretty!

Finally, I am happy with how it is turning out. The stock wheels look ok - kind of give it that old school look - but I cannot wait to see it with the fat spokes. It is going to MAKE the bike. I hope you guys like the way it is turning out as much as I do... Something is telling me I am going to have to invest in the SHOTGUN though... It just needs that "slammed" look.. Enjoy (so far)...

The wheels are gonna put it over the top bro. It looks great.

And your rear isn't all jacked up in the air so you can get away without the shotgun.

Looks good man

Looks fantastic but I think you need a Motherwells rack. The Motherwell is much better looking than the stocker when riding solo, IMHO. It hugs the fender a lot better.

It does look good. Tank emblem fits the bike.

Thanks, man! Yeah - for now I've got the lowering bolts in it and they are only set about 3/4"-1" lower. After having them on the train, I don't like having them too low otherwise I'm hitting the bump stops every time I hit a crack in the road.

Thanks. As far as the rack goes - I agree. Only reason it is on there is because I will frequently be riding with a passenger. When I save a few more dollars up, I'm going to change a few more things (C&C seat, and some others).. But for now, this is where it's at.

Thanks! Yeah - I really am a big fan of vintage emblems (especially on a bike that HD designed to have the vintage look). The white in the emblems really fits with the white walls.

With your paint, the blacked out front end balances everything. Also appreciate the way the rear fender is aligned with the pipes - looks well thought out. Or mebbe you just got lucky... : )

Even if you don't make the show you can ride with what really counts - pride of ownership.

Congratulations.

Well, I spoke to Outlaw Cycles again Friday, and still no shipping confirmation. DNA is still reportedly working on assembling the back wheel. The front wheel has been finished, so that is at least good news. The troubling thing is I have been invited to attend the Donnie Smith Bike Show here at the St. Paul Rivercentre (MN)... The show is the 28th/29th... And not having the wheels before the show would be a HUGE bummer. Today we hit 71 degrees where I am at, so I decided to throw the super spoke rotors on the bike and go for a short ride. Put on about 25 miles to test everything out - make sure the fall-away felt good, brakes (which worked, thankfully), no odd noises. I would say we are well on our way to a successful riding season! Actually ran into a friend of mine and he snapped this picture of me going down the road... As always, stay tuned. I'll get updated photos when the wheels come, and when the bike gets to the show I will get some photos of the setup I am thinking of.
