What all is needed for the install. I called the dealer and they are talking $1800. Seems very high. They said the the pipes are $689 (Big Radius). Race tuner, download, air cleaner.etc another $600 and $400 for the install. Do I need all that stuff installed?

Install it all yourself and get a pcIII instead if you want to save money. But if you have the money just spend it. You can't take it with you...

Don't forget I still have those RUSH Slip-Ons for sale which are pleanty loud. Keep in mind if you want to go to a full exhaust system you will probably want to get the full stage 1.That includes a fuel management system, air filter, and the exhaust. You can't go wrong with V & H or Samson.

Sideshots are an awesome option. You don't see them everyday like the BSS. I think they are less than the Big Radius but give a similar look.

They are way overselling you. You should be able to get BSS or Sideshots for $500. You don't need race tuner, etc. You need that if you are going to make a lot of changes. If there is a good map for your combination then simply getting the $100 remap is fine, and Stage 1 with V&H pipes is pretty good map, mine runs awesome.

My shop told me to forget the fancy air cleaners. With the heads being airflow challenged, just replace the regular filter with a K&N. My bike is V&H BSS, remap, K&N filter and it pulls and sounds as good as any Stage 1 I've ever ridden. The extra filter money isn't needed - that extra air at the top of the intake trac just can't get through the TC88's flow challenged heads.

So:
Pipes $500-$550
K&N Filter $40
Remap $100-$125
Install $100-$150

is what the whole shootin match needs to cost. Most worthwhile "extra" would be PCIII or Race Tuner.

I just replaced my stock/SE's with V&H Big Short Shots and I love em!! Long shots are nice too, but I am going to chrome the swingarm and everything on the back end and wanted it all to show, that's why I went with the shorts.
