Default Lower belt guard availability.

I've got a 1996 Custom with a rusting chrome lower belt guard. Been looking for a black plastic one, they look a bit more discreet. Can only find one here in the UK for later models. Anyone know if a later model one will fit mine or where I can find one for my bike?. Any info appreciated. Cheers.

Why not get an OEM one and have it powder coated?

Guaranteed to fit and you can have it any color you want.

I don't really want a lower one at all but after reading loads of threads on taking them off I decided probably best to have one. That said, I don't wanna shell out shitloads of money on a new OEM one and powdercoating, or getting the original one stripped and coated so thought a plastic one would be the cheapest option.

I haven't run a lower or an upper belt guard for over 20 years and have experienced no problems at all.

On softails I remove both belt guards and carry on. All they do is get in the way when taking off the wheel. Ran my softail like that for years without issue.

why not take the one that you have off and hit it with some black rustoleum and re-install.

Never even heard of it mkenkel lol. Not readily available in UK. I just googled it. Looks like binning it is the cheapest option then.

I always pull the lower guard off all my bikes. I leave the top one on just cuz it's metal and it looks ok but I've never had an issue not running the lower guard.

Bottom guards going to go then. I'll take the chance. Cheers for the input everyone. It's appreciated.

Default Funny. Ha Ha...

Always heard of riders getting rid of guards and most throw them away. Just sounds funny to hear some one wanting one.....LOL>> By the way, never had an issue...
