Default Springer Riser Problem - Really confused !

OK

I have a 2007 Springer classic and the last part of the mods I wanted to do was replace the existing 1 1/2 inch bars with Crossbones narrow beach bars ....

So I purchased

Beach bars 56940-09
Risers 56896-08
Caps 56897-08
Bushings 53157-97 not sure these are correct for the risers

So .. put everything together but when it came to mounting everything the risers didn't fit flush down to the tree bit

The problem was the bottom nut bit seemed too wide for the crossbones riser to fit down properly

This shows the measurement of the existing riser ....

So ordered what the dealer said was correct but they were exactly the same !

I've found pics of a riser with shallower nut bit but can't find a part number

So can anyone help me with part numbers for:

1. the riser stud for the crossbones riser
2. Confirm or otherwise if the bushings I bought are correct and if incorrect the part numbers for them

Many thanks and sorry its a long post

Simon

OK ... could it be part number 45544-88 for the stud I need ?

EDIT

56565-08A seems to be the crossbones specific part number ?

Crossbones Rigid Fork Stud Part # 56565-08
Rubber Bushings # 53157-97

The BUSHINGS you have should be correct. It's what I'm running in my risers which are the same as the ones you are trying to install.

I've never seen the studs that you have on your Springer. I have two different sets of Harley Springer risers and both fit over my stud. But I can see in your pics what you mean. When you first said that the hex portion of your studs was too thick, I was thinking that it was too large for the diameter of the riser opening. I see now that by thickness, you mean how tall that portion of the stud is which makes your riser too shallow to fit down over it completely.

Let me know if you need me to help you source these parts.

Were you able to return the first set you ordered that didn't work/turned out to be the same as your originals?

Also, in my original reply above I said that "The studs you have should be correct..."

That was an incorrect statement and a typo. I meant to say that the rubber bushings you have are the correct ones. The studs on my crossbones are definitely different than the ones you have. I never knew Harley made anything different...

I currently have my crossbones risers and studs off the bike. When I get home tonight I will take pics and measure just so we can compare notes...even though you say you already order replacements...

I figured you meant the bushes

Yes hopefully a full refund on the wrong studs and the correct part number ones were much cheaper for some reason

A picture of yours would be good too if you get chance
