Default Lowering a Deluxe

Anyone done this with a Deluxe or any softail? Im going with a kit that will allow up to 2 inches which I hear will scrape hard. I dont want to scrape but I do want the look, so how low should I go. What will it do riding 2 up?

Thanks

The back of a deluxe is already lowered, you can lower the front but your gonna scape

I installed the lowering kit on my bike as well (see "Spokes" gallery) but I only dropped it 1 inch which was enough (IMO) to make the difference in looks especially with the wide whites. Riding solo I have to ride pretty aggressive to scrape but the minute I go two up I scrape every time. Nature of the beast...

i weigh 165lbs, and find myself constantly being careful in turns not to scrape, as can be done relatively easily. I thought i was really going to have to lay the bike way over to ever have to worry about it, but not the case. This is one facet of the deluxe i hate (probably the only one). Scared the ... out of me first time i scraped, sounded horrendous and definately good for an adrenaline surge. Lowering i'm sure would look nice, but i can't imagine how easy it would be to scrape if were another inch lower. fwiw, mb

Here's the link to my gallery: https://www.hdforums.com/albumphoto....Type=1&apage=1

It's started life as a Fatboy, but I guess that it's closer to being a Deluxe than anything else.

I'm gonna have to side with you on this one Enzo, I have wanted to lower mine since the day I brought it home. I just keep trying to talk myself out of it. The guys I ride with most usually ride aggresive and there is no way I could keep up if I lowered it. I'd love to get that white wall tucked up in there a little more tho and may do it anyway. Post some good pics bro, I can't wait to see it.
