Night Train springer bobber styled
Got sent some wrong parts for the rear holding up the progress in that section. Pulled the springer and put it back on for the last time, it's permanet now and I've started putting the primary back on.
So while waiting on a couple things to be able to get back into working on setting up the rear end, so I got to work on the bars.
I had Exiles internal throttle and Grip Ace switches to install. The bars tubbing is thicker then normal so once I shortened the throttle side bar, I realised the internal throttle wouldn't slide in, so I then machine 2" inches of the inner surface to a perfect fit with the internal throttle. Drilled a hole for a grub screw that goes into the internal throttle housing and will use adhesive as a precautionary, but as it sits, it's a strong fit with no play.
The grip ace buttons proved a pain in the **** to cut into the grips, lucky I bought a second set as I ****ed the first one up good and proper. Drilled a hole for the one wire to go in and she's all almost done. I've just got till the top end is back I can work out the length for the throttle cable to cut it to and run it through the bars. All in all it'll be a clean setup.
I wanted a minimal look up front, no gauges, no obvious switches or controls or lights. Unfortunately due to the narrow overall width of the bars, running the brake line internal is pointless, it would only enter on the vertical tubbing of the bars, and the short height of the bars would mean it'd be a waste of time in my opinion. I can make the brake cable near and relatively hidden with the springer so there won't be cables flailing in the wind

The lines on the top of the tank flow perfectly with the bars !!!!!! Looks great!!
Sucks you got sent the wrong parts.

Alain I'm diggin the lines too. Just filtered up the headlight, the mpunt I have sits it too high, ordering another that'll drop more to keep that flow going.
Professor I didn't get any snaps but I got the instruction sheet and it has it pulled apart and parts labeled that will give you a better idea then my shitty photos. I'll take a snap of it later and post it up in here for you. I'm thinking of using the Goodridge sniper braided lines. They bend tighter so it'll make it easier to keep it neat out of sight to some degree.
Haha G you're adding to my already eternity of work needed to be done! I never measured it up but the seat must sit me down and back a few more inches, as to my surprise I have to lean forwards a little to reach them as they sit now. To me it's spot on, I'll see what my back says after a few miles lol
Well my front wheel is finally ready, 3 weeks build time turned into 8 weeks but it'll all be worth it soon. A few more weeks and hopefully it'll be at my door

Lmao brother. ***** gonna be awesome and you're right, with the springer you won't even see that brake line.
