Alain I'm thinking of using this little Dakota digital that will fit between the risers. It comes in a black case so it'd blend in and wouldn't be so noticeable. It has all the indicator lights so like you said, I'd also like to keep these too.
Either that or I had in mind something similar to what Mac or Branners done with the smallest diameter gauge possible I can find.
Once I have the springer and what tank I want on I'll decide from there on the small we things like speedo and ignition options.
Where did you get all the time to be doing this man.
Haha well while I work away for a week at a time I do all my research and ordering then. Only took 2 months to get started from when I had originally planned to do something
i am deffinatly following this post, ink83 you and i have vary similar taste in bikes. we started in opposite directions where i knew what i wanted in the back but been on the fence about going springer.

I've always love an old rough bobber look but at first I didn't want to do that to the train, but I've got to the point where I don't care about destroying the train lol.
that thing is low, you may have to run a larger front tire just to keep it off the ground. are you running a axle mounted brake?
I'll actually be running a skinny 21 that I've put an order in for, so it'll actually end up even lower. It's roughly a 4.5" under the stock fxstb front. When I pump the shotguns up it lifts the front a little, it'll be enough to get over speed bumps. With the open primary and new pipes coming it will have that bit extra room to lay over too.
Will be running axle mounted brake, not real good options for what's out there for springers, but I plan to try make a 6 piston caliper on a 13" ceramic floating rotor work.

Thanks Dan. By all means share it with us when you do
Hey ink, I know it's early on but that gas tank looks like it might be the one man. I like the way it comes up high in the front and tapers down nice and low towards the back where it meets the seat.
