Default 2001 Heritage Classic.............

Hey,

I'm considering buying a 2001 Heritage Classic bone stock, bags, three lights, shield for $13,300 or $15000 Canadian dollars. It has 83,000 km's or apprx 55,000 miles. The dealer states they replacedthe front cylinder gasket due to it weeping and thought while it's apart we'll re-ring and put in new piston set. New top end....right? Should I be at all concerned and are these 01 motors with a new top endgood for another50K.

F/N this was lady driven and husband serviced for it's entire life.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

M-

Maybe it's just me, but I think thats a bit high for having 55,000 miles on it, even if it did just get the top end, especially considering its bone stock. I think you could find a better deal, might have to pay a couple grand more, but you'll get a newer bike with a lot less miles and some extras if you wait. Just my .02 I could be way wrong.

I think you must want that bike pretty bad to even concider buying it. I'd have to pass on that one.

Just an FYI... I have a 2002 Heritage Classic, 21k miles, with a stage 2 kit on the motor, S/E2 exhaust, S/E Air intake, 203 cams and lots of extra chrome. The dealer aka "Stealer" only wanted to give me 12,000 USD for it on a 2006 Electric Classic that he wasnt giving me a break on. It was brand new still on the Showroom floor. Soin short dude the dealer is trying to rip you off BAD...........

Guess it all depends on what you want though it does seem high$$ for the mileage. Took delivery of my new 06 heritage (leftover) for 15,200 w/ 5-yr warranty.

Don't rush into it.

Just got mine today, 2002 Heritage Softail, 25300 kilometers for 11000.00 canadian dollars. Guy also threw in a motorcyle lift with it. It has Vance & Hines long shot pipes and lots of chrome, sissy bar, engine gaurd, highway pegs on it.
Can't wait for the bloody winter to be over and go riding
