Default audio questions

hey was wondering if anyone has experience with audio specs. I currently have the Harley boom audio cruiser speakers on my deluxe I love them, sound good but like all issues I can hear them in high speeds but like everyone I want more. I have come up with an idea I have hard bags mounted and was going to do speaker lids and just add the Harley speakers to it. Sounds simple but someone brought to my attention that I might over power them. I can under power them but I wont get the most out of the speakers in the lids, so I guess the question is does anyone know if that would happen and will a cross over fix that from happening or will it just be a waste of money? any help would be great!!!!

You will not hear the music coming from saddlebag lid speakers if you are doing anything over parking lot speeds. If the goal is to hear more music while moving, you will need more sound in front of you....

Your talking driving some better speakers with a little 40 watt amp. I am not even sure what the speaker resistance is for the Boom Audio. I was thinking about mounting some 6 1/2 speakers in to a pair of 5 3/4 headlamp buckets and mounting them on my engine guard. I'll try first with the Boom Audio amp but I am sure I will need a better amp sooner than later. Rainy day project.

Yes, adding an amp big enough to make them good at highway speed will blow them, hence the kaboom nickname. Dig around the audio section, a lot of sharp guys over there that have seen it all. Can certainly get a better setup cheaper than what you would pay for the boom stuff (boom amps are way underpowered for good speakers and good amps are way overpowered for boom speakers).

There are also a few older threads adding speakers to headlight housings on the crash guard to keep the sound in front of you like misbehaving mentioned.

I have no audio on my fat boy lo. But was contemplating mocking up a little setup for the Beats Pill in between my apes. Anyone ever try anything like that??

I remember seeing a thread on here a while back about someone adding speakers to the engine guard...using headlight buckets to house them...here's one link...i'll see if I can find the other one.

if you put speakers behind you, you won't hear them very well on the highway
