Default 1987 heritage

just bought me a 1987 heritage. Too good of a deal to pass up. Has V&H long shots and a stage 1 kit in carb. My question is what kind of mpg can I expect out of this ol Evo? Also too is there any way I can mount a larger tank off of a 90s heritage so I can go further in between fill ups. Thanks
Btw this is my first harley. Had a vstar before

Around 40-45 depends on stock or not. Evo Heritages have 4.2 gallon tanks. Softail Custom (FXSTC) has 5.2 gallon tanks. Stock Heritage will go over 150 miles, by then you probably need to stretch your legs and get a drink anyway.

Have fun on it.

Mileage, well that all depends on how far yer twisting the throttle. As far as the larger tank goes, you can get 6-gallon tanks from JP cycle at a reasonable price. My 87 Heritage has a tank lift, and Im thinking the 6-gal tanks would extend the range a fair bit. Seem the tank lifts allways effect the usable fuel in the tank.

I bought some used "Fat Bob" tanks(6 gal. I think) to fit on my '96 fxsts. They seem to be rather heavy to pick-up compared to what I thought they might be. Started to remove the layers of paint. I haven't finished that though. I paid $ 100. Found some 4.2's, so I won't be needing these. If you're interested in them, give me a shout.

I got a 97 all stock except pipes, reset the trip gauge when I fill up and usually hit reserve around 155 miles and start looking for gas...drops some riding two up.

Thanks Guys. ReasoN why I was saying put a bigger tank on it, is all the articles I read about the bike says it has the 3.4 gallon tank.
I got it in the shop now, having a complete tune up done.
