I've been trolling around the softail section for a long time and found a great deal this weekend on a 2014 Breakout in vivid black with 136 miles....score! Had a question. I wanted to know if anyone has tried a Headlamp Visor on the BO. I've seen the quarter fairing, but I was just thinking a cafe racer looking headlamp cover like this would look sweet with a daymaker. I know it's for sportsters and dynas, but wondering if anyone has attempted modding this or found something similar that is available.
Oops...one more question...anyone running a 7" daymaker? Been reading for 3 days now and haven't run across anything. Thanks!
I could attach a pic of the bike, but I figure you know what a stock one looks like .
depends on what kind of "head light visor" you want. There is the touring style one that is like a moulded visor around the whole front of the head light. then there is the one with the little metal looking visor that is just like a brim on the top of the head light. The first one i am talking about only comes in chrome but many ppl get them powder coated right away. im guessing that is the one you want and it is like $35 on ebay and i thnk $45 harley msrp(rough guesses from memory). As for the daymaker head light i havent seen many on the breakouts but i know i have seen a few. just have to play with the search bar or troll the break out forum. ebay has some that are already black but you never know what you are getting there.
I believe that is the 5 1/4. My question was whether anyone had tried a 7". Love the bike, but man that headlight looks anemic on that big beefy front end. I did see cbay's and that quarter fairing is growing on me after seeing his bike.
A different headlight shell might balance the dimensional gap you noticed on your bike without exceeding on the other side, adding a headlight that would result being too big. Just my .02
I stuck with the 5 3/4 black day maker headlight but I did change the headlight bucket. I went with a Headwinds bucket. It's a bit more stretched giving the appearance of a larger headlight. I've posted my bike all over the place but you can see it in "project breakout" if you are interested. I've only seen one 7" but I can't remember who has it. 24v put a duel headlight on hid that looks pretty cool too.
Harleyvetteguy,
I did read 24v's thread and also yours. I went ahead and ordered the 5 1/4 after seeing cbaywolf's bike. The quarter fairing has grown on me and I think I will go that way. I like how his bike looks. I'm doing stage 1, custom dynamics led, chromeglow fender light, powdercoat and blackline console, and quarter fairing to start. I'll post some pics when I get her together.
