I am sending my chrome exhaust shields off to be powder coated black ceramic. There is an outside chance i will be able to ride weather pending before I get them back. Is there any harm in riding without them other than the obvious leg burns if I am not careful.

 

Other than the people that point out "You are missing your heat shields!!"
no problem.

 

I ride without heat shields. I have shotgun slipons so they would only pose a problem for a passenger, which I rarely carry.

 

I don'the have heat shields. After burning a few pair of jeans I went to a bicycle shop and bought a reflective velcro band that goes around my ankle. It works perfectly.

Are you doing ceramic coating or paint? If ceramic, who is doing it?

 

I am doing ceramic powder coating. I work for a metal fabricator so we send a lot of stuff to the local powder coater, so he doing me a favor. He will sandblast the chrome off first, then powder coat it.

 

any clothing that touches them will get a burnt spot in split sec.. and any bare skin will get an instant 1st burn...
