Default Soft brakes set up?

OK, ignorance showing here again but what is this "Soft brake" I often hear of on here. Iv never been interested in it so I never looked into it or asked any questions about it. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing and should look into it and need start asking questions about it.

Replacement tombstone tail light housing, along with a license plate relocator plate, to get rid of the tab on the top of the stock housing and move the license plate to the bottom of the fender, below the rear turn signals.

Bunch of pics in another thread here.

Mine comes in the mail monday.

Here's the big thread. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...e-bracket.html

Cleans up the back end and puts the plate below the light. I also used two L.E.D bolt lights, instead of a lighted frame

Hmmm, I have a lay flat and I'm not to sure I don't like that better. Going down the highway I'm not to sure people would even see my plate or know to look. I think that covers to much of the bottom of the fender. And besides I have a built in little stash tube back under my lay flat. I would hate to lose that too. I don't dislike them but I think for now Ill stay with what I have. Thanks guys.

I mostly use the relocator bracket only. On RKs and Ultras it gets the plate low and is a much better look than the stock location.

I like them, don't get me wrong. I just don't think there it for my bike. For some reason, I like my lay lat better. Now, that's ALWAYS subject to change in a heart beat too !!!

I was debating going with a layback mount, but I felt like the softbrake mount flowed better with the bottom of the fender than the layback did with the curve above the tail light. Either is definitely better than the stock vertical mount - but it's really just personal preference...

Sweet looking scoot, by the way...

Well, we do agree 100% on that, the OEM plate standing straight up and down are Ugly, just plan and simple ugly, TO ME THAT IS! I'm not bashing stock plate mounts or anyone or anybike that has one.. It just wouldn't work with my bike.

I have the curved laydown plate as well and am very happy with the looks also. The chrome is real thick and heavy looking.

I just finished installing my Softbrake system. I think it looks great. Many say it covers too much of the bottom of the fender. My answer: stretch your fender! :-D I think it looks great, but to each their own. I also used the Radiantz lighted frame. Did a write up on it if you use the search tool with plenty of photos.
