Another thought....if you have changed out the Bars / Grips / Covers Etc.
Check all the wires coming in and out of the switch housings. A wire can get crimped and take years for it to cause a short. I've seen too many times the wires coming out NOT placed in the groove of the bars and smashed. Just a thought.
We've all had a wiring issue at one time, and they are such a bitch!! Good luck
Cheers guys. It's a shame. It's first Harley after riding jap bikes for 30 years and so far not a great experience. When it runs fine I absolutely love it so I'm not giving up. I'll get it sorted for sure.
You really didn't specify if its fuel or electric, When it doesn't start is it still cranking or do you loose that also. I've had my ignition switch give me an intermittent power problem and then it finally crapped out... installed a jumper under the dash switch to get home then replaced the switch, all good...
Probs with both. The fuel problem is one thing and then there was the electrical problem which did seem to be some sort of short (in my very limited electrical experience). The electrical problem only happened once so far.
