So I called customer service this morning and tell them whats going on and explain that I'm not very pleased with my motor failing at 1000 miles. The douche's only comment is I don't see where they have contacted our service reps and those parts don't make sense to replace. I proceeded to inform him my $20,000 motorcycle being in pieces doesn't make any damn sense either. He tells me, that's what the warranty is for. Yeah, no **** *** clown. First time I've had to call Harley customer service in these years I've owned Harley's and I was not impressed. This might just be my last if this is how they treat their loyal customers. I'm on number 3.
Well, I decided to make the best of a bad situation and use the warranty work to my advantage. Getting the heads ported and polished, cams and adjustable pushrods and tuned when its all done. At least it will come back with a lot more power....
. At 15000 riding it like its stolen, no problems except the left rear blinker came a little loose. Got her tightened up under warranty while on a ride past the dealer last weekend.

"When life gives you lemons......." You know the saying
I agree with those telling you to demand a new engine. Bits of metal have most likely been distributed throughout the engine. Could lead to accelerated wear in the engine that wont show up until after the warranty period has expired. I have never trusted the average Harley tech to spend the time to do a really through clean up of trash in an engine.
Actually, I'm beginning to believe it is more common than advertised. Ive got 4 friends that have had similar problems. Two were the 103s and the other two were the big touring bikes. All had oil flow related problems leading to severe Engine damage and all were at low mileage. In three of the cases they replaced the complete engine and the other they did a complete top end job.
When you start getting near the end of your warranty, you might consider buying the extended one..
