I put a Reckless fairing on my Deluxe. I like it alot. As far as batwing blocking vision verses a shield it is not a concern. I was used to a shield and thought the batwing might block some viewing of the road but it does not.

It did make the front end steering a little heavier than the shield but it too is not a concern. I have a stereo and amp with 4 speakers and that adds to the shields weight.

It does a better job at blocking the wind over a shield and keeps the wind off of your hands when riding in colder weather.

Mine stays on all of the time.
