The small cross over at the front bottom of the tank should level the fuel. Interesting when you talk how dry it is at 10K feet. I live on an inlet to the Chesapeake Bay and I park the bike in my garage since the lawn is too soft to get to my outbuilding that the bike stays in during the summer. Numerous times when we have warm days following cold weather, the opening and closing of the garage doors will let the warm air come in on the cold bike. Seen it dripping numerous times. Sure the inside of the tank may be the say way..
thanx for all the input im headed into town tmrw to get some premium and will fill the tank i wont tighten cap all the way and see what happens. My new cap wont be here till next week probably dealer is 2 hrs away so out here i order everything online and sit and wait . Living in the middle of nowhere Colorado has its drawbacks i guess . Soon as i found out what did this ill post it. thanx CW
Do not leave the cap loose, I don't want gas to seep out onto your paint.
Tighten the cap, back it off 1/2 turn. The cap when loosening it has free play until it grabs to loosen it. Turn cap back until it is about to grab. If you have a stall, loosen cap enough to release any vacuum, try to start bike.
If you want to see the parts inside your tank, go to the following site, click on parts finder at the top and select fuel tank and fuel pump after you input the year and model of bike.
PLEASE NOTE: Although I am not familiar with your exact ride, but some Softails DO have a 2 piece tank that is connected with the connector hose. The same principle applies, if you have a vacuum, it can bubble from the connector tube, but the cap will create the same symptoms.
