Default First 2 questions..

Hello everyone,
i just joined the forum, and also just bought my first Harley. Picked up a 98 Softail Custom. The first question is, who would you use for a shipper? I live in VT and the bike is in FL.
Second question is, the bike has some fugly handlebars. I cant even describe them. Does the type of bike and rake matter when looking at handlebars? I am debating between Apes, then what size or CA t-bars. I am 6'2".

thanks,
J

Congrats on your bike. I had a bike shipped from the west coast to middle America and used these guys. Price was good and the bike arrived fine. Shipped on a motorcycle pallet. It came on an Allied Van Lines truck shipped with various other items.

14" Apes would probably work fine for a 6'2" guy.....and fly down and ride it back!!!

Just a thought.

No ideas as far as the shipping but handlebars are a personal thing. Rake won't matter as far as going with a drag bar setup or apes. At your height you are going to want at least a 16" set. I'm 5' 7" and have 14's...my arms are perfectly straight. I'd suggest going down to the dealership and see if they have some bikes with different sets of apes on them so you can try them out in person. Too many choices out there. Good luck and congrats.
