2000 FXST no spark
Hi everyone, this is my first post. I have a 2000 FXST Harley, I've had it about a year without a single problem. I took it for a ride yesterday, about 3 miles down the road it backfired and shut off. Now it will crank but not fire, I'm not getting any spark, all indicator lights work, check engine light is not on and it's not throwing any codes. Could this be the ECM?

The battery and the cables are fine, and so are the fuses. The coil is good too. Would a failed cam sensor cause the check engine light not to come on? That's why I was thinking it's the ECM, but I hear the ECM rarely fails.

Do you have a manual? You need to make a jumper wire and read the codes from the speedo. The instructions and codes are in the manual. Our year bikes do not display the codes on the dash, you have to count the number of engine flashes.
