ORIGINAL: Lightngsvt

Funny, I was thinking of keeping my 8 year old car and getting a Deluxe. I was about to by a new car before "Deluxe Fever" hit me. Only bummer is we have 6 or 7 months of decent riding here, plus I have to by the wife a new car as her lease is up soon. THe car still looks new and Im sure nothing compares to riding a new Deluxe, huh?

Best of luck and be sure to post some more impressions as you get some miles on her!
My advice, keep the car, buy the bike.

Impressions so far? The bike feels more nimble than it should. As a newb rider, that's my biggest surprise. Moving it around isn't the easiest thing in the world, but once she's rolling, she feels much lighter than I expected. No problems with swerves, hard braking, etc. Getting more comfortable and confident all the time. I'm 6'3" and I see a lot of posts wondering how anyone over 5'10" can ride the bike, but have not had any problem. I have a 33" inseam and weigh in at around 180lbs, so I'm fairly thin, if that helps put things in perspective. Haven't gotten to do any extended highway cruising yet, but should have great weather and a decent amount of ride time tomorrow.

Keep in mind that this is my first big bike...my first bike, really, so I am speaking from a very limited frame of reference. That said, I feel confident while I'm saddled up and very comfortable with the seat/controls.

I need to look into removing the passenger pillion...love the solo look. Isn't there a black fender cover under there? Not sure how that would look exposed.
