super hot is normal after a ride, RED/ BLUE and super hot is not normal.
when you lift the tire and spin, does it spin free or is there drag from the pad holding up?

Installed DNA Fat Spokes with AVON White Wall in a little under an hour, with stock axle's and spacers.

From nearly Stock

To a little touch of me...

Any binding on the brakes? I ordered new pads and hope it fixes my binding issue - bike looks great

No binding, I was thinking on that did you use the stock spacers? Also, if you use the stock pads (Sintered), the metal flaking will cause issues with the chrome rotor, but would not cause the binding. Does the tire/wheel appear to be in the center of the forks, also, does the rotor line up with the caliper?

So I pulled the caliper and pads and think I need to do some maintenance on one set of pistons, they don't look like they are moving. I'll mess with it today. I ordered new pads in the meantime. Not fun to see your brand new chrome rotor getting dorked up, but that the nature of it I guess. To be continued.... thanks

Pulled the caliper, sprayed around the pistons and they look a lot better. Put some brake grease over the pistons and on the pad ears. I can spin the front wheel now. Going for a test ride.....

That did the trick! Rode perfectly, I did stop to feel the rotors and yes both front and back get pretty hot -- you can touch them for .0000001 secs but nothing crazy scary smoking hot. Thanks for all the advice -- see you on the next one!

I pulled my fender, tire, and forks to do the Progressive Lowering this weekend. I am polishing the lower fork legs while they are out. So some people have suggested I needed fender relocation brackets to accommodate my 21" up front. I know it's been said before but I looked on the underside of my fender and there is No Rubbing from the tire. The fender is perfect. So I would agree you can use stock spacers and no fender relocation brackets on a 2009 Softail Deluxe.
