Default Solenoid cover with starter button

Thought I'd share this here. Start button on my bars was working intermittently on my 06 Deluxe. Pulled the starter relay and it was a little corroded so replaced it with a new one and havent have any issues since. But then looked into getting a solenoid starter button cover as a backup in case I ever run into an issue like that again (yes also have an extra spare relay). I first bought the Spyke solenoid starter button but turns out that the button and shaft were way to long and the lower oil line was in the way. Returned it and ended up purchasing the Pyramid Starter solenoid cover with button which had a much shorter button. Much cheaper at $15 and took 10 mins to install.

Thanks for posting this!

Any tips for the install? I've not had that end of my starter apart, is there anything that wants to fall out when you remove the cover to be aware of?

Sorry for the late response. Very very simple. Remove three hex head screws on the solenoid cover and a gasket. Nothing falls out. Replace with new solenoid cover, gasket and screws. Fits like a glove.

No problems, thanks for the confirmation. I was scoping the job yesterday it seems pretty easy with a wobble extension that I have.

I may buy one just for a backup plan at that cheap price. And it's more chrome! Lol

Wasn't long after I got my old Tour Glide that the "backup" starter button became the "only" starter button. Might look odd to folks watching you reaching down behind the motor to start it, but sure beats not starting it. Glide's in pieces now, and the bar button will work when it's back together, but I'm keeping that solenoid button, worth every penny.
