Alright guys, I have a question. I just bought a 06 Heritage with 46k miles on it. The cam tensioners were replaced and a hydraulic oil pump was added 6k miles ago. The bikes engine is nice and quite at first and then at about 5 miles the motor gets loud. It sounds like it is coming from the rocker area and/or cam area (its hard to determine). It also happens all at once meaning the noise just starts all at once. Anyone else have this happen to them? Anyone have any suggestions? I just bought it yesterday and just now got a chance to drive it more than a few miles.

I'd look into the lifters.

 

103 ci 2013 RoadKing... i am hearing this also... so far i hear its normal... but i'm taking it to the dealer and see what they tell me

 

My 103 got noisy lifters on synthetic oil. Switched to dino oil and it quieted down. But I needed syn oil for the AZ heat so I tried RedLine 20-60 oil and all is well. It's expensive but well worth it.

 

I have the same issue....go with dino oil change
