I have this backrest from a 2001 fanboy. It seems like it won't work on my Heritage as it has only the two mounting points where my bike would have 3. Two for the saddlebag bolts and one for the rear strut bolt. Anyone clue me in on this? The HD site says this part works on 2K Heritage. Any help much appreciated.
it mounts on two strut bolts. the furthest back, closest to turn signal, and center bolt. it also requires longer bolts and plastic mounts that the backrest bracket slides onto. not sure what the bracket comes with. bought mine used with everything.
I have the docking kit. Kuma, could you possibly take a pic of your side plate on the bike. Would really help. I need it to work with my saddlebags on, which puts two extra bolts on the strut. Thanks!
I put sissy bar from fat boy on my heritage..My bike had the quick mount dock..
I had to get different side plates..they have notch for the center mount point

That's what it looks like my problem is. Guess I'll need to pony up for new side plates. Did yours work with the Heritage bags once you got the notched plates?

Yeah, ...I had the quick mount docks already cuz I have a touring trunk that quick mounts..so they make everything quick mount.. bottom line, sounds to me like you need new side plates
