I bought a new tank console to replace the stock console on my 2004 FLSTC. I think I can do it myself, but want to know if anyone else has experience with this type of thing?
Super easy. Remove the nut and swap the ingnition switch (3 ź screws) and the odometer reset (has a plastic nut under the rubber cover) and the speedo (3 ź nuts from memory) and you are good to go. Lay a towel on the tank and go to town.
Here is my conversion thread. You won't have to make a bracket.
If you have electronic odometer they push out from the back. There are little posts that unhook, if you look at Ronnie's parts finder you can see an exploded view.
Simple installation...I installed a low profile to replace the wide two piece which I like much better. The only real mod I had to do was cut the carriage bolt about 1/4 so the acorn nut would tighten down.
Thanks for all the help. The easy part was swapping the hardware. The bitch of it was getting it back on with the damn rubber piece staying put and the shoving all the cables in there.
