I just got new tires on my 08 Night Train and I noticed it was riding funny. Plus it would pull to the right when I took my hands off the handle bars. When I got home I noticed the rear tire had rub the left side of the fender. It has a pretty good grove on it. Does anybody know what may have caused this. It was fine before I had the shop put on new tires. Did they do something wrong? Is it safe to drive back to the shop?
Man I would not ride it call the shop , if it is the same size of tire from before it's the shops fault make them come and get it ,they got somthing wrong!!
Thanks Karman 71. I took it to the shop on a trailer of course. They are saying it may be the rear wheel bearing is bad causing it to shift. Have you ever heard this happening. When I had the tires replaced, I also had them change all fluids and look over it. The receipt says the inspected the rear wheel assembly, is the bearing included in this? Not trying to get taken for something they did or could have prevented. Thanks.
Sounds to me like they did not line the wheel properly when they installed the wheel, it then inturn destroyed the bearing. Now they are blaming the poor bearing........But I have been wrong before. I would do a belt inspection now too!

Of course it's not their fault , if you had a bad bearing you know it because you ride your bike , and you know when inspecting them if they bad or not and you have in writing that bearing was checked you didn't have the problem until they did your tire then now you have all this problems sry man , my thing is I do everything on my bike because you can't trust anyone no one is going to fix it right like you !! I always hear stores and you are only on two wheels I say start working on you own bike they can mount a tire on a rim for you and you put it back on . But got luck man I feel for you!
It sounds like one of the spacers in in the wrong position...I have 3 spacers on my back wheel...2 on one side and one on the other. If they are put in wrong, this could cause a problem. It might toast the bearing also, which is not big bucks to fix (but use QUALITY bearings...).
I wonder why they would not have spun the tire after installation to make sure it was mounted correctly/no issues...
I'll bet you a beer it was the spacers...
Check your bearings though, I have had two wheel bearing failures on a new bike...after 08 they are challenged...
Hope it work out ok.
