My Softail Slim drifts to the left when my hands are off the bars. I know there's been a great deal of conjecture on this subject and I am fully aware of all the situations regarding weight distribution, alignment, tires, road camber, head adjustment, etc., etc. that can cause a problem in this area. But my issue is that, as many of you seem to have experienced, my dealer tells me that it is perfectly normal and that all Big Twins do it, regardless that they may have been 'perfectly' set up. The fact is though, that they don't all do do it, and I would like to get some statistics on the matter.
So I'm hoping you guys can do me a favor and just post "Mine does" or "Mine doesn't" depending on your personal experience. I don't need any tips on how to address the problem - I've read all there is to read about it till I'm cross-eyed; I'd just like to know what the percentage comparison is between riders whose bikes do ride straight and those whose don't so that I can go back to my dealer with some stats and further the argument.
I tried it once on my Springer just out of curiosity. I kept my hands just above the grips just in case it went one way or the other and I can honestly say that my bike went straight.
