Default Lowered Slim Handling Charasteristics

So I did some searching but didn't find a whole lot. Not trying to discuss how to, but what the aftereffects are of lowering your slim. Was there a noticeable difference in handling characteristics and was it noticeably easier to drag the floor boards? Obviously this thing isn't built for railing through corners, but it doesn't handle pretty descent. Theoretically, lowering the rear should make the bike turn in slower, but would add straight line/speed stability.

What did you guys experience overall from say going 1.5" or so?

I'm wondering the same thing, as soon as my slim is out of the shop I plan on doing 2 inches.

My bike is a Fatboy LO. I lowered the rear 1.5" and the front 1". The only difference in handling to me is that I scrap my boards a little more then before. If I want to blast through some curves I steal my sons Ducati for the day.

Well yea, if you lowered the front as well, that would negate any of the characteristics that only lowering the rear would induce.

I lowered my slim 2 inches the 2nd day I had it. I traded it about a month later. the floorboards drug so bad I was going to put forward controls on it.

I've heard that frees up some lean angle quite a bit.

The two months that I just had the rear lowered only resulted in no difference in ride handling. Just a bit more scraping. I had the bike out on the Road America track before and after each mod and really no difference in handling on the road course. Going out in a couple weeks to run the track after I install my Shotgun shock. We will see what the changes in height will do. Hopefully I can get some comparative lap times.

I lowered mine very soon after buying it so I cant answer to how it affected the ride. I can say that I scrape way less than before but that may just be adapting to make it not happen.

I've had mine two weeks now and the scraping is progressively getting worse as I get comfortable with the bikes capabilities. Coming off sport bikes doesn't help this matter, LOL. Guess I'll just lower it and see how it goes and adjust accordingly; even if it ultimately means forward controls off a Breakout or Blackline.

1.5" DeadCreek kit is on! Honestly, I can't tell any difference at all in overall handling and also, I can't tell a noticeable decrease in ground clearance either. Went to a parking lot and tried some mental note lean angles to see where the boards scraped before and after and the difference is so minimal it's almost not worthy of comment. I cranked in a little preload while I was under there, so that may help a bit as well. Just FYI for you guys.

Oh...only downside is my jack is now a PITA to get in and out, LOL. Small price to pay I guess, cause it's amazing what it did for the looks.
