Here is the completed transformation of my winter project. 2001 Deuce converted into a bagger. Everything came out perfect except I am not happy with the exhaust. Appearance wise I think it looks awesome but the bike is too quiet and the loss of power bugs the crap out of me.. What I did is put a 14" extension pipe on the end of my thunder header. Like I said, the look is nice but the performance and sound has suffered. Looking to see what everyone (if anyone) has done with their setup.. Thanks
like the look! im currently working on picking out parts for similar look i found a set like yours and was wondering if your bike was lowered at all ? I would like stretched bags but my bike is lowered and i dont wanna drag the bags.
Glad I found this thread, even if it’s 7.5 years old lol. I have a similar issue. I just picked up stretched bags for my 2012 Fat Bob. I have the brackets and bags and will be giving it a go soon. The first issue I see is my exhaust. I have a D&D Boarzilla 2:1 on mine and once I put the bags on, the pipe will be about 6-8” short of sticking out the back of the bag. The cut of the pipe directs the exhaust downward some, but I’m concerned that with it being under the bag that it will damage the bag and also will it look funny without the pipe coming out the rear. I am keeping the stock fender. The photos I will try to attach show the bags on, but I photoshopped them on to see what it would look like.
Mgenest, I recently just bought a 02 duce and am wanting to make a few changes pretty similar to what you have done. I was wondering if I could pick your brain on some things. I would greatly appreciate it!
