I’m all done building it, so it’s time to start over! It’s Road Glide time. I will miss the ‘tail, but very much looking forward to the new ride and keeping myself poor (and a sh1tload warmer!) for the next year or so. The dealership is consigning it for me, and are listing it at $22,900 and they are confident that it will go quickly.
Been good chatting here, suppose I’ll likely be found next door here soon.
Gotta be honest that sounds way over priced. You have a 14k bike with 2-3k in add ons, plus used. Dealer will tell you anything if you tell them you want to buy a bike. If they are so confident why wouldn't they take as a trade instead of consign?

Sorry dude but there's zero chance of selling it for that much.
As mentioned before, why didn't they just give you that amount on trade if they were that confident of its value?
There's no way I'd spend $23K on a used bike when I could get a new one for $16K or less - with a warranty.
Whatever extras you added on are worth exactly $0, at least according to NADA and Kelley.
lol when I was looking for a deuce, the local dealer had one. Went to look, it was way overpriced. He said its filler, its on consignment. We set the price so we can steer someone to a new bike.
That deuce is still there.......

I agree that there is little to no chance of selling if for $22k, but with all due respect, I think that the mindset of extras being worth $0 is ridiculous.
Point me in the direction of a Harley Davidson that is stock 6mos after purchase. It ain't happening. For the most part, powder coat this - chrome that - needs me some pipes so I sound good - oh yeah, new bars and grips - gotta have a seat - that crash bar looks the **** - d@mn would sure like to have a windshield...etc Nothing but simple add on's that a buyer would most likely want to add to the new bike they are buying at some point or another. At full price for the parts and labor no less .
If the OP's bike was at my dealer the day I purchased my bone stock Slim for around $17k out-the-door, I would have most definitely offered up to $19.5k for it. Just because Kelley or NADA doesn't assign value does not mean that value is not there.
Say what? That's about 6000.00 more than it should be, these guys will tell you anything to get you on a new bike. You should have said ok I'll buy the roadglide when you sell my bike for 22,900.00 plus tax!!! If you add the standard 11% that we get stuck with in California then that's 25,419.00 OTD...if it's sells pm me I'm taking my bike down there.
