You won't regret it at all. The rides I have done since installing mine a few weeks ago have been at stock height or above. Works great in the twisties. I still manage to scrape my boards but my lean angle is much improved over the old 1.5" lowering collars. Around town or cruising the highways I like to drop it for the looks, it still rides better the stock when lowered.
The softaillowringkit "collars" work just fine if you are riding alone. The ride is obviously going to suffer some because the travel is diminished. Lean angles? Are you kidding me? These bikes are not canyon carvers. For $80 bucks, it just makes sense over the mega bucks kits others are pushing.
Queue up the "you're too cheap" or "too bad you can't afford the mega buck kit"...
I installed the same kit on my bike last week, I'm a big guy and tbh, it rides like s*#%.. I knew what I was in for so I wasn't surprised. For me it's just a temporary lowered look until I can free up the funds for the shotgun kit...as far as install goes, 25-30min, couple of wrenches and a few beers..... Good luck!!

Had first ride yesterday as it was raining when I fiited the kit. OMG the ride is awful with the 2" collars. I now have a proper Hardtail. I shall try the 1.5" collar and see if that helps. However its a great kit, very easy to install and bike looks great parked.
I just installed the 1.5" collars on my crossbones. I'm 5'10", 175 lbs. I did notice I bottom out a little more than before. I probably need to adjust the pre-load more.
I don't think I'll ever be able to afford the shotgun kit (as much as I'd like), so the next best option for me is to save up for Progressive shocks.
