For $300 I might want to buy that kit.
i sure never said it was 300.. i wont say the cost.
and for the other poster, harley didnt make the retro kits,
the gentleman that built mine built all of them for harley corporate.
I lost my throttle lock when I went to apes and all internals. Is there anything in that case? I sure would love to have it back. Sorry for the high jack too.

everytime i see your bike, i think god damn that beast is cool
.... That being said, even though cruise is a nice option to have IMO if you're riding so much that you need cruise control that often a Softail isn't the right bike for how you want to ride.
Have to disagree; I'm about to change from a RK to a Fatboy so I know how often & when I use the cruise control; even for short trips I use it pretty often so - at least for me - it has little to do with the distance of the trip.

The key word in my post is "need" vs. "want".
IMO if you need cruise on a softail and you're not disabled then you probably are riding the wrong style of bike.
Now if you want cruise just because it's nice to have then that's different.
I'm not sure how many miles I've put on a bike in the past 37 years but it's well over 100K and I've never had or really needed cruise control.

But note;this is all IMO
I've always had troubles getting past one person telling another what that 2nd person needs.
Then redefining that 2nd person's criteria..
a person's needs exactly don't need to be validated by anyone else, period.
One poster mocked before I got a bike turn around for my garage without even knowing me or my circumstance..

I'm so sorry for hurting your feelings by voicing my opinion.
Perhaps on the next thread I'll wait to voice my opinion until you've had a chance to voice yours, that way my opinion will not contradict yours.
