Default wire identification

I'm in the process of putting in New throttle cables on the breakout and noticed this wire attached to the underside of the air filter. Any clue what it's for?

Intake solenoid connector for HDI models with a solenoid operated trap door. It's taped to the back of the back plate when not used.
