Ok I'll admit I'm cheap! Wanted some rush slip ons for my 2011 heritage but found a deal on cycle shacks and bought them. They are a lot smaller than the stock mufflers and quite a bit louder. They actually are not bad at cruising speeds but a little louder than I would like. I bought the tapered model which is probably quieter than the slash cuts but higher pitch. For another $25 I just ordered the DK Thunder torque inserts in hopes I can mellow it slightly. Since I have the tapered cycle shack version I'm not sure how well the smallest torque insert will fit. I may end up modifying the insert to make it work. I'll post my results when they get here and I get them installed. I think most people would love the sound of the cycle shacks stock but I must be getting old! The stock exhaust was like a sewing machine and I couldn't handle it, I'm hoping with the inserts and cycle shacks I'll have a nice sound for under $150.
Wow! Cycle shacks..... that's awesome. I ran many a set. They were pretty much the industry standard for Harley mufflers decades ago, and now all the noobs want ridiculously priced boutique mufflers. But hey, the times they are a changing!
Edit: if memory serves, weren't the early Screamin Eagle mufflers just rebranded Cycle Shacks? I think so, but can't really remember.

I like the stockers better. Got American Custom treatment with their mid baffles. Sound is perfect. Not obnoxious but when you hit the throttle it's sweet. Had cycle shacks on my shovelhead FXR for years and loved them. Smaller pipes look better on the smaller bikes IMO.

While I was waiting for my thunder inserts I threw in a couple 1" baffles I got off fleabay and it toned he highs down and actually sounds awesome. I'll get some uploads this week.
Yep, they work great on my Bike! I saw the Dyno results a few years ago, there wasn't much of a difference between those slip-ons and those fancy overpriced "Complete" exhaust systems... You'd never tell the difference, unless you were a drag racer at the track!
The baffles worked great to reduce the drone at 60-75. My thunder torque inserts arrived I'll try them today. I'm going to throw up some vids on both but won't be till later this week. for anyone who's purchase cycle shacks and been disappointed by how loud they are the $15 baffles completely fix it. I'll do a write up on them to for anyone interested.
