The rubber handlebar bushings wear and get soft over time, a 'jar' to the handlebars can make the bars cocked out of alignment. Use a 3/4" wrench on the riser bolts to loosen them up, re-set the handlebars and tighten everything down in place. Or, you could upgrade to poly bushings and not have this problem again...

Sorry for the size of the pic, and thanks all for the feedback. From what I can tell, and the notes published elsewhere, I think that the risers have become twisted somehow during service. They had the bars off I am sure because they had them adjusted to a higher position when we went to pick it up and they had to adjust them.

We will have them do the adjustment and I will let folks know how it turns out. FYI, the correct full size pic is attached , you can definitely see in it how the bars are skewed.

By the looks of your picture, it looks like the risers need to be set straight. As for the pulling, sounds like your steering head is too tight and grabbing when you turn left or right.

The bars are easily able to be straightened out. I would recommend changing the rubber bushings out for poly bushings. The bike being as old as it is, the rubber bushings can wear out. How ever, they should not be causing your issue.

Bike was in to the dealer for when they opened this morning, they took it right in and made everything right. The issue was the risers, one got changed out by them today, and they did the adjustments needed. Have to say the wife is very happy with the way they treated her, and the work seems good, no charge.

Thanks all for your feedback on this one.

Nice you got the problem fixed and good for the dealer to stand behind the work. Lottsa folks speak badly of dealers and MoCo but your dealer gets the gold stars today.

My buddy had the same problem and his risers were loose. Tightened them up and good to go.
