I've had a wide mustang tour classic, saddlemen classic, sundowner, hammock, and now a ultimate. Of all the seats I've owned the hammock and the ultimate are by far the best. For Softail the ultimate has to be by far the best but it is also the most expensive

Talking

Save yourself a butt-load of money and look on Ebay for a gently used one.

I've had Corbin, Mustang Wide Touring, stock HD, and HD signature series.

This is the Harley signature series and it's good. On my bike, it sits about an inch higher than stock and sits me about an inch back. The passenger pillion is better than stock but the Mustang wide touring has the widest.

Here is my Mustang Wide Touring. This is on a Road King but you can see how wide the passenger pillion is, it was much wider than the Corbin.

All the seats were good, I'd probably say the Corbin was the best for the driver.

I also buy all my seats on eBay. If you watch you can get a decent deal, sometimes even new, my Mustang was new and about ˝ off retail.

Thanks, let me ask you this. How does the Mustang passenger seat look on a stock rear fender, considering it's only 7" wide?

That pic is on my Road King, it had a similar sized rear fender as my heritage springer. It looked great, but remember that bike had saddlebags right there so it didn't appear to hang off though I guess it did.

I'm not sure how wide the passenger seat is on the softail models...

Have leather bags on it now, which I'm replacing with a set of hard bags. Waiting to pick them up from the body shop, having them two toned to match the bike. Hopefully it won't stick out onto the new bags. Thanks.

+1 on the Mustang, I've had 'em on a few bikes and every one was comfortable for long hauls. HD Sundowner is pretty comfortable as well. BTW, Ned says hurry and make a decision, he's tired of being defined as someone you can sit on.
