I have a 2001 flstf I'm needing new forks for. They are 41mm forks does it matter what they are off of as long as they are harley 41mm forks?

 

It depends upon what you are salvaging... just the fork tubes? The diameter would be fine but bikes with different rake angles have different lengths from tree to axle. I can't tell you whether HD makes this difference from longer tubes or from different lowers. As for the lowers, how many brake rotors and how the fender mounts can vary. The diameter of the axle is probably the same for all 41mm tubes, but I'm not positive on that, either. I forgot to say that HD can also change the front wheel diameter to make the trail right on different rakes... but I >think< a perfect example of how they choose to handle that would be the Dynas... Wide Glide vs. the others. If I remember right, the WG has 1 degree more rake than my NT but the same size front wheel?

A dealer can look up the part numbers for you to see if they are interchangeable.

I believe forks off a 2000-2006 Fatboy or Heritage will fit your bike, but like cwsharp suggested, check with your local dealer before pulling the trigger.
