On previous bikes I have tuned with the dealer download and a SE Super Tuner with dyno tune. My FP3 tune is better than both. I recently used the auto tune function as well. I feel like the bike runs a little better after that but it could be psychological.

This may be a dumb question but I don't know the answer so I'm asking. What's the difference between the regular FP3 and the California rated one? What's the difference and do I have to get the California one being in California?

Seems I am lower than a caveman. I plugged the device in and connected ok via BT but can't find my exhausts (v & h shortshot staggered) or my filter (screaming eagle big sucker) I've emailed V & H for some advice. Anyone else had this problem?

I was at Black Hills Harley yesterday and talked with a guy that had the FP3 on his bike with a "Stage 1" setup.
He had performed a "Stage 1" on his Wife's bike and decided to moved the FP1 from his bike to his Wife's bike and put a FP3 on his bike.

He stated that after the autotune his bike doesn't run any better with the FP3 than it did with the FP1.
He said he's wished he had just bought a used FP1 since he doesn't have any intention of going any further than a "Stage 1".

Has anyone else gone from a FP1 to a FP3?
If so what was your opinion?

I was thinking of upgrading my FP1 to a FP3 but now don't know if it's worth the $360 for the change since according to the guy I spoke with I will not experience any increase in performance.

I believe the AC standard is just a high flow system, no particular brand. As far as short shots you must just not be seeing them for some reason, all of their pipes are on there I'm almost positive.

V & H emailed me and said use the map for the big radius pipes and high flow air filter.

I had limited "generic" tune options for my breakout in the FP3 archives, I think its because V&H doesnt list big radius pipes as fitting a BO (but we all know they fit). V&H tech support is pretty responsive - within 24 hours I had a "custom" map to flash. I still get quite a bit of decel popping, not near as much as stock map, but its still there. overall i'm happy with the FP3.

There isn't even an option to select an air cleaner.
First of all, if all you did was change your exhaust there's really no reason to re-tune.
It's not until you open up the air supply that you need to, to compensate for the "way too lean" factory condition.

V&H is assuming you replaced the restrictive air cleaner for a free-flow OEM model - which for all practical purposes are all the same performance wise.
Just about any aftermarket air cleaner will open up your breather to where they're supplying more air than your bike can even use, so when shopping for one all you're really buying for is looks.

..and make sure you're scrolling through the entire list when looking for pipes - it's a pretty long list...

I bought the bike with the exhausts and high flow filter already fitted. i then changed the filter to the Screaming eagle version and thought I needed to re-map it again but turns out it was fine anyway. It seems to me that one map seems to do a number of systems.

I just went down and checked - V&H ShortShots Staggered DO appear on the list - listed on mine as choice #7. See Below:

One thing about the FP3 is that they are always updating the firmware.
When I first got mine, there were only maybe 2 or 3 exhaust manufacturers listed, with incomplete lists.
Now there are more like 6 or 7 manufacturers listed with more being added all the time.
Make sure you update your firmware every time you plug it in - it can be time consuming I know, depending on your internet connection but this is where you'll get all the new additions.
And like I mentioned earlier, make sure you scroll the menus - it's not always obvious that you can.
For whatever reason, V&H didn't add "scroll bars" along the right side of long pages, so there's no visual cue that there's more to see.
