Save your money and buy the Dunlop Elite 3 250. It is just as wide as the others in 250 and 260 size. It also costs much less and is a great tire. I have 8k on mine so far.
I run both the dunlop and Metzler with great results wet or dry, about same mileage. I run the 260 Mettler when on sale, but I usually end up going with the 250 Dunlop for way less than the Metzler, sometimes like 80 bucks less...that's a lot of good Guinness!
I always buy online and have it installed locally. Works out nice. Sometimes if my tire mounter can get within 20-30 bucks,I buy it from him. I pull my wheel off and drop it off...much cheaper and easy.
Ride safe.
I wish I can buy it online and have it installed locally... so far all places will only install the tire if you buy it from them (they say is a liability issue) ... but I don't need to do it right now... so I will keep calling and getting prices... thanks.

Try calling shops that work on sport bikes. I take mine to a local shop that does a lot of sport bikes and dirt bikes. If I bring them the wheel/tire off the bike they charge me $20 to mount and balance. Also, if you have a Cycle Gear near you they will do the same.
I have been riding the metz 260 for the last few years on my rocker, with a 120/21 in the front and she turns fine, better than stock. And with my Billet replica wheels, the Metzs balance out perfectly without any weights... well worth the money

I have a cycle gear near me, i checked online and they have the dunlop 3, avon and metz. I will call them tomorrow to see if they mount tires... thanks.
I will also call a few sport bike shops.
Whats a good price for these? I found Dunlop 3 for $225 and avon for $270 (cycle gear) ... but if they install any tire, it opens a lot of online options and prices... will see.
I checked a few shops and HD dealers...and some said that I will have to buy both tires, that both should be new and the same brand. I had to replaced my front tire a year ago due to a wipe out... but the rear tire still the stock one and good for a few thousand miles... and the front is only a year old.
I think is just another way for some shops and ALL dealers so far to make you spend some more... what has been your experience?
They're just trying to get more money outta you. You been riding fine with your new front tire and stock rear for the past year right? Just find a Indy the will change it out. As 24v said buy the tire on the net. Lots of good deals. Got my Avon for under $170.....at the time the Avon was cheaper than the elite3.
Hell it's just mounting a tire just check Honda, Yamaha Kawasaki, Indian etc dealers. If HD don't wanna help...there's gotta be someone around you willing to. My local dirt bike dealership said $25 as long as I take the wheel off.
