Hey guys. I very rarely need help with mechanical stuff but I've tried just about everything with my 2014 slim.
I parked it after pretty much riding it every day for the last 2 months last week. today I fired it up and noticed it wasn't quite running right. the exhaust just isn't 'tight' - if you will - and there's very little low end power. normally I can't even use first gear around town or even pulling into the driveway. right now it feels like I'm trying to take off in 3rd gear. it's got ok high end power, but it's just not right. my idle is also all over the place compared to normal.
I played around with my power vision and even put it back into stock mode which actually seemed like it helped a little but not 100%. the only codes I'm pulling are lost speedo connections which I've gotten since day 1. all my wiring seems to be fine.
no, not yet. I'm in the middle of a cross country move and all my stuff has been shipped to my next spot. I was thinking of going to harbor freight to try to grab a cheap one.
I did the majority of my auto tunes during the really hot and humid weather. it seems to run good when I switch it to stock mode. any chance I'm having issues due to tuning it with the extreme heat now that it's cooled down a bit?
I've had to re-tune my race bikes in the past to changing temps and altitudes but this is the first time dealing with a computer controlled Harley. we were at about 102-104 at 90-100% humidity now it's 75-85 with 80-90%.
I experienced the same thing with my FLHX & tonight I found the culprit. On top of the Throttle Body & behind the Air Cleaner there's a brass nipple sticking up (exactly between the heads) that should have a rubber vacuum cap on it. I guess that due to heat these caps deteriorate & the result is a huge vacuum leak.
My 14 Lo has started to run like that since it has gotten colder. I too tuned my PV when it was hot. I am going to run the Auto Tune while it is cold out and keep two tunes, one for warm weather and one for colder weather.
