Hey guys.... I've decided to buy a set of the 12" x 1-1/2" BR's Custom Bars New Wave 2 handlebars (I attached a video below that I found in case anyone else is interested in some bars like this).
Anyways, what are you guys with apes running for bushings? I know the factory rubber bushings are out of the question but are you guys going with the polyurethane or the solid brass bushings? The brass would hold up forever but I thought they would likely transfer a ton of vibration through the bars and after a long ride it would likely kill the ol' hands.
Also, does a guy go with OEM "upgraded" bushings or are there aftermarket bushings that are perhaps better both in price as well as performance?
Ive got about 4000km on poly bushings and no noticeable degradation since new. Got a cheap set on eBay I believe, figured they are kinda hard to **** up on and not need to drop any amount $$$.
14" apes on my Deuce, solid mounts. I've done a few 2-3 hour rides already and no problems for me. I've got some thin Arlen Ness grips too. I thought the combo would kill my hands, but it's been fine.YMMV.
I've got 16's with 4" risers and I use poly bushings and have used this combo for little over 9 years and around maybe 85k. Gone on short runs, long runs and all day runs and no problems with hands, arms or shoulders. Just in case it matters to anybody, I am 64.

Hanging off apes at 64 with that many miles on them is good enough for the girls I go out with! Did you use the HD poly bushings Springer?
High-level research reports suggest that apes and chimpanzees can be quite satisfied bangin' the stock-size bunghole, if that's what you're into. Maybe a bushing would be needed for a "little guy" special friend, or if you've been stretched out to the extent that you can no longer pass as a virgin?
