I know it is only Sept and some of you are lucky enough to be able to ride all year. Last weekend it was in the 90's, but tonight I had to wear a leather jacket, hat and gloves. So it got me to thinking about winter storage. A local dealer charges $300 for storage, but if you spend $500 in parts and labor it is free. So it got me to thinking what I might want to do.
I want to black out my forks. But do I go with stock black parts or do I get them powder coated? Possibly powder coating the pulley. Maybe some new rotors depending on what wheels I might go with eventually.
There is that plastic piece in front of the rear wheel. Is there a piece to replace this?
I got one of my new mirrors today. If there is a way to get powder coat to look similar to the silver on the mirrors I was thinking of doing brake caliper covers. Something a little different. Or maybe do them in red if I can't get something close.
I am sure my list might change a bit. What are you guys planning on doing?
It cost less to powder coat than replace only if you use a good powder coater. Depending on the powder coater, they may have or be able to order powder that matches.

We can't advise you whether there are parts available for your bike without knowing the year and model of bike you own. Consider putting that info in your signature so it is present with every post. See my signature for example.
To answer your question, Harley does have a polished SS fender extension that replaces the stock black plastic one. These are the two available.
No mods planned but I'll come up with some. In the mean time my Slim will be dynoed next week. Have stage one mods, now it's broken in a bit it is time to polish the fuel and ignition maps. 2 buddies did it to their 103's and one had +5, the other +8 hp as a reward plus a much smoother and higher torque curve. Hope it will be a sunny day!
