i recently got a 2011 Softail Custom and I notice that the red electrical system/alarm light comes on at around 65mph sometimes in 5th sometimes in 6th. The security system has not been activated so i know it is not an alarm issue. From what the manual was saying it is most likely a loose bulb if none are burnt out, I cannot find one loose, then again why is it only coming on at certain speeds? I also seen on line where it could be a voltage regulator or stator issue? the bike is starting and running fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks
I had this constantly on my 12 Heritage. Sometimes it was something easy like a bulb, other times it was 'we don't know'. I had 2 voltage regs replaced, brake light switch, turn signal switch, 2 speedometers replaced. I hope the new owner figured it out because 3 dealerships and 2 indies never could.

Thanks for the heads up,
did this issue ever cause your bike NOT TO RUN or shut down while riding? So far it is not causing any issues and is running great. It's strange that it only comes on between 55 and 65 mph.
my 2011 softail did this for the first time the other day. Same thing, going about 65. I thought it might be a heat related issue only because my tuner has a value i can change that handles at what temperature an indicator comes on and off. I could have been completely wrong though. Loose bulb sounds less concerning.
