Default New Headlight, Mixed Thoughts?

I just got through installing my new DK Customs 2500 Lumen drop in LED, and at the same time my new Bosch H4 301 600 118 lamp.

I got it all hooked up and rode it around in the dark, adjusted it down a bit so hopefully won't be blinding people. The light as far as shining is great and as good or better then I had hoped for. Has good side vision too. But after looking at the front of the bike now, I'm just not sold on the looks of the new Bosch lamp. As far as functionality, it's probably the berries but it just looks on the dull and drab side to me, especially sitting next to the HD LED passing lamps.

My bike had just a regular sealed beam Sylvania Halogen which wasn't very bright but looked ok at a glance. My Heritage is an 03 model and has the newer LED passing lights thanks to the previous owner that broke one of the originals and just replaced both.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Any of you have the Bosch lamp and like it, hate it, replaced it with a newer HD lamp or something else?? Maybe I should just not look at it and shine on as I ride on. Just thought I would ask. Now let me see if I can post a pic. First time, here goes.

I wouldn't be happy with the opaque look - I'd never expect that from any headlamp.

Yes i agree. It almost looks smoked while off. Maybe you should put the same type in the passing lights and the they would match.

It looks like the inside of your housing is dirty or fogged up. Try cleaning it?

I agree with the last comment from jgos929. Your honesty is appreciated. That is what I wanted to hear. Well, my feelings as to the tee. Although I remember reading several places on the net where the Bosch H4 was highly favored. It's not dirty. It was sealed new in the box. It's just the way it is.

Ok, what lamp should I get that will work well with my new DK Custom LED and also have the look well factor with the led passing lamps? New model Harley lamp, Hella, etc..... I hope I get it right this next time. I want to.

Theres no way that lens should look like that. Bosch is probably using Hella lenses which are perfectly clear. Send it back.

I'm not a fan of "upgrade" LED bulbs, but if you want the best lens for your bulb,
get a real Hella or Cibie. Cibie's lenses are a bit better than Hella's, but you would be satisfied with either.

If the inside of the housing isn't dirty, maybe you need one of the headlamps with the smooth clear lens to look more like your passing lights, such as the headlamps on the more recent stock Harleys (I don't know how they came in '03).

Hey Guys, My bad. I took the head lamp back out and sprayed a bunch of windex down in it. I used a wooden spoon and paper towels to get it cleaned. After doing this a few times, it came out looking pretty good.

I guess I just thought that was the way it was in the beginning, especially since it was in a sealed box.

It looks even better now then in this pic. I guess I'll just go with it for now. Thanks a bunch
