I can't see where it would void any warranty. The advantage Ride On has over beads...Ride On is also a tire sealant, not just for balance.

My fatboy (solid) wheels must be really out of balance themselves, as I always need a ton of weight on the rear wheel in almost the same place each time the tyre is changed. Is it possible to correct this first? Do these heavy cast wheels need a different amount of ride-on to spoked and other lighter wheels? I've never found a good reply to this question but ask it often.

The tire size determins the amount of Ride On not the style of rim.

But given the amount of weight that's on it, I clearly can't pull off all that and expect the same amount of rideon to work as for a lighter, less out-of-balance rim. So unless a larger amount of rideon is appropriate, it looks like I'm going to have to keep the weights anyway (or otherwise balance the rim on its own first).

I switched to ride-on after I found a couple wheel weights missing during a bike detail (stick'em still there, weight gone)..... and my first tire change had a slightly scalloped tire from being out of balance.

Ride-on was an easy install. It took longer to get the old stick on weights off. Plus, I like the fact that it will "adjust" the tire balance as the tire wears.....

I know shops cringe when told there is "slime" in the tires, but ride-on doesn't make the mess that slime does....

I've never had a wheel/tire warranty so I don't know the rules on those.. But I can't see how ride-on would void one.....

How does all this discussion square with the post about Dyna Beads on the front page?

I've been running DynaBeads on my Slim (with tubes) through two sets of tires now without issues... my indie even claims they're re-useable if you feel like retrieving them - but they're cheap enough to not even bother...

I have used both. Ride on and now Dyna beads. Both do a great job, But if you have cast wheels ride on can stop a flat and get you home, For spoke wheels its dyna beads....
