Yes, yes it is. That doesn't mean the individual can't improve their skills, but it does mean that there can't be any denial as to the truth of the situation.

Let's be clear. Folks learned to ride a Pennyfarthing so being able to flat foot a cycle is not a requirement to ride it.

Proper training, however, absolutely is.

My arms are pretty well fully extended with my handlebar setup. Haven't crashed since I put them on in 2011 (knock on wood)...

Pics would really help us understand what you're saying ;-)

My Lo looks nothing like the stock bike I bought. It is almost there, but who knows what I will change next...

Good on her for following her dreams...
Were you talking about a bike or your avatar? Cause I gotta say - one of them appear to be a bit excessive!!

I don't get it. What is the big deal with flat footing a bike? As long as you can reach the controls, put the kickstand up and down, control your bike when you come to a stop in traffic, what is the big deal? I almost never flatfoot my bike. I keep my right foot on the brake pedal and I steady myself with my left foot. Only tricky time comes when it is raining or I find a slick spot in the road at a light or stop sign...

that's what I'm saying, if you can't put your feet down quick enough for an emergency or incase someone stops in front of you and all you have is your tippy toes, what are you gonna do

The only time it matters if you can flat foot a bike is when it's 1 or 2 miles per hour. Other times, you have centrifugal force as your friend.

These guys had a lot further to fall than someone on a Harley.

There is nothing excessive about my avatar...

I can say I have good taste in bikes and avatars!

There are many men who can flat foot a Harley and can't ride a lick. They use their feet to get a running start and as landing gear when they come to a stop. They typically don't use the front brake until the aforementioned landing gear is out in preparation for a stop. If competence was required to purchase a new Harley, sales would be cut by better than three quarters.
